A lie is
always disguised at the truth so you get deceived into believing it to be true.
Most times, the resemblance is so close that you can’t tell the difference between
a lie and the truth. Here are 7 lies the devil wants you to believe:
1)
YOU’RE
TOO SINFUL FOR GOD TO FORGIVE, LOVE OR WANT YOU
God did
not come to call the righteous (good people) but sinners to repentance (Luke
5:32). In other words, his priority is sinners, not righteous people. He has
forgiven murderers before, why won’t he forgive you? He loves and wants you the
way you are, with your flaws and all. You know why, because he has the remedy
for you. You don’t have to become good before you meet him, he wants you the
way you are. Don’t believe this lie the devil wants you to believe. The next time
you make that mistake; don’t run away from him or from church, run to him. See
what Romans 5:8 and 1st John 2: 1 says.
2)
GOD DOESN’T
EXIST
Usually,
the devil says it this way: “does God really exist?” “Look at all the things
happening around you, does it show you that he exists?” Thoughts like this
usually occur when something unpleasant happens. Or when something we prayed
for turns out differently. We’ve been told that there are other planets apart
from the earth and we believe it because those who have seen them told us. But
if we chose not to believe that these planets exist, does that change the fact
that they do? Believe it or not, God exists and will always exist, even if you
choose to stop believing he does.
3)
GOD NO
LONGER HEARS YOUR PRAYERS
The devil
plays this game when what you’re praying for isn’t coming to pass quickly or
when you’ve sinned. It’s all part of his plot to get you to stop praying. God
ALWAYS hears when we pray. See Daniel 10: 1- 14.
4)
TIME IS
RUNNING OUT; YOU NEED TO FIND AN ALTERNATIVE
Sometimes,
in our heads, we’ve set a time frame when we expect certain things to happen
and if they don’t happen, the devil comes with this lie to get you to act in
haste so you’ll be destroyed. He did it to Sarah when she decided to present
Hagar to Abraham as a substitute. He did it to Saul in 1 Samuel 13 when Saul
decided to offer the sacrifice (which was unlawful for him to do) because he
felt Samuel had delayed. Don’t fall for his lies. The outcome is usually not
nice. Wait on God till he shows up
5)
YOU’RE
STANDARDS ARE TOO HIGH…SETTLE FOR LESS
This lie
usually works on single ladies desiring to be married. He wants you to
compromise your standards, settle for an unbelieving/incompatible guy and marry
wrongly so that your destiny will be destroyed. He goes ahead to show you
different ladies who are married and tries to get you to believe that it’s
because you’ve not compromised that you’re still unmarried.
Now that
these lies have been exposed, you won’t fall prey anymore, would you? I hope
so. Happy weekend ladies!
