Well, amongst other things, what makes February 2016 special is the fact that it's a leap year. Yes!!! After 4 years, we get to see February 29th once again. Yippee!!! Though the day seems like every other day, there are things that make the leap year unique.
So many myths and traditions surround the leap year. According to an old Irish legend, or possibly history, St Brigid struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men – and not just the other way around – every four years. This is believed to have been introduced to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how leap day balances the calendar. Read more on that here.
Some scholars explain why we have leap years by saying that every four years, we add an extra day to the month of February, the month with the fewest days, to keep our calendars on track. If we didn’t do this the seasons would shift around the calendar, and in 750 years’ time June would find itself in the middle of winter (not sure I understand what they mean). Read more here.
Some Bible scholars, however, describe the leap year as being the product of Joshua's command to the sun to stand still in Aijalon so that ancient Israel could win victory over their enemies. Read more on that in Joshua 10:12.
I'm not here to argue for or explain the existence of the leap year. But this morning, something struck me about that word LEAP. And as I thought on it, I heard the month of February speak volumes just before it's swift departure. This year, the month of February speaks to you prophetically to take a LEAP forward in your career, destiny, business etc. Maybe it's saying to you that some opportunities will come your way this year which, if you miss, will take another cycle of four years to get back. May be that gibberish about the old Irish legend which allows ladies to propose to men on February 29th is just indirectly telling you to get more bold, radical, pushy, outgoing and forceful about life and getting the things you desire. Maybe it's saying to you that this year, you should break out of the traditional method of doing things and try something new to get what you seek. Maybe it's saying, that something extra has been added to you this year to make you succeed. Maybe... Just maybe... The summary of it all is that despite all heaven has done to position you for better things, if you fail to take the necessary LEAP per time, 2016 will slip by as just another year...
Physics (or is it science) says a body of mass remains the same except a force is applied to it (if I no get am abeg forgive me but you catch my drift sha?). Maybe February 2016 is saying to you that the force needed to take you to where you're trying to get to is for you to take that LEAP. If you don't know the LEAP to take, ask God to show it to you. So when someone asks you what today's date is, or what the time is, just simply tell them "it's time to take that LEAP". He that has an ears, let him hear what February 2016 is saying. 😁😁😁
