BEING IN CHRIST IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO DO THESE THINGS

Hello princess,
Today's post is dedicated to all daughters of God who are meant to be a blessing to their generation and a crown to their husband...

It's a wonderful thing to be in Christ. In fact, some days I wish he'll wisk me away to be with him so I can follow him wherever he goes. But, that's not happening soon cuz he intentionally put us on earth for a purpose. As much as we would love to spend hours in church, doing the things of God, studying the word or praying, there has to be a balance. Sometimes, we use our being in Christ as an excuse to do certain things we ought not to do and  that's what we will be talking about today.
Happy reading.

#1 - Dressing Shabbily
Neglecting your dressing simply because you've given your life to Christ does not make you holy or increase your level of holiness. Ceasing to use perfume, beautify your face, or your hair does not increase your spirituality. It only makes you look unkempt and repulsive and will disconnect you from opportunities that will come. Imagine if Joseph failed to cut off his beard and clean himself up before going to see Pharaoh, he wouldn't have gotten audience with him. When Queen Esther finished fasting for 3 days, she had the sense to look good before going to see the king, even though he was also her husband. Selah

#2 - Dressing Irresponsibly
It is true that God looks on the heart while man looks on the outward. It is also true that what you wear does not delete or increase the Jesus in you. But the bible says in Mark  9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea...
It's simple - though we're free in Christ, when your dressing / action begins to cause another to fall, you have lent yourself to the tempter and you're inviting the displeasure of God. As much as it depends on you, do not be the reason why someone falls, especially when it has to do with your dressing.

#3 - Failing to get wisdom

Wisdom is the PRINCIPAL THING. It's okay to fast for 40 days and do all those activities but if you must navigate successfully through life on earth, you need wisdom. Even if God gives you the right man you've been praying about, you will lose him eventually because of a lack of wisdom. Wisdom doesn't fall on you by chance. It is not a default human character. You seek wisdom through revelation from the word of God, the Holyspirit, relevant books, experienced wise men and women etc. There is wisdom for marriage, finances, motherhood, etc. Your godliness is not enough. Your ability to quote scriptures is not enough. Pray for wisdom. Seek wisdom.

#4 - Neglect your relationship or marriage
God is our number 1 always. But, he cares about our human relationships and he also cares about your marriage. In the name of giving time to God, we often neglect our human relationships until it gets to the point where we need to call 911. There's time for everything under the sun. If you're finding it hard to strike a balance, ask God to give you the grace you need. As busy as Jesus was, he still had time to attend weddings and visit friends as the need arose. It's time to strike a balance dear. Find a way to carry your loved ones along.
Neglecting your husband's needs sexually and otherwise does not give God glory. If he who cannot provide for his home is worse than an unbeliever, she who neglects her home is an accomplice of the destroyer. Why? She opens her husband and her home up to the devil by making them vulnerable to attacks.

#5 - Taking your health for granted
We bless God for excellent health and divine healing in Christ Jesus. However, that's no excuse to endanger yourself health wise, eat poorly or overstress yourself. The grace of God is sufficient to keep you and wisdom demands that you understand your body and take care of it appropriately.

Voila!!! Now it's over to you reading this. Can you think of more things? Post them in the comments section.
Your comments are always welcome.

If this post blessed you, share the link with someone else to bless them. Xoxo.

5 UNWISE MOVES GUYS MAKE

Hello precious gem,
It's been awhile since I wrote anything on this blog. Reasons? Nothing in particular. I've just been on a "sabbatical leave" of some sort. Anyway, it's good to be back. In the short while I've been off, a lot of things happened but the most important thing is that ALL THINGS are working together for our good by the invisible hand of God.

So today, I'll be sharing a few not so wise moves guys make that are like shooting oneself in the leg. What are they? You're about to find out. Whether you're a lady or a guy, this post will do you a lot of good.
Here we go:

#1. Not declaring your intentions
Hanging around a lady without declaring your true intentions or defining the relationship is a recipe for ending up in "friend zone". This is okay if that's where you want to end up but if you intend to take the relationship beyond friendship level, you have to let her know. Acting caring and being there for her does not spell out your intentions. Most likely, she has other people doing the same thing! Define that relationship now! Tell her your intentions!! That doesn't guarantee that the answer will be yes, but at least, you'll know you gave it a try and it will make her know you're a man who knows what he wants. Shy guys, take note.

#2 - Not supporting her dreams
Iron sharpens iron. A good relationship should sharpen both parties and make them better. Unfortunately, a good number of guys think that the Woman was created to dance to their whims and caprice; forgetting that she's also a human being with a purpose and dreams too. Not supporting / squashing your woman's dreams makes you an enemy of progress. If she finds someone who loves her and supports her dreams, she'll most likely start tilting to him, no matter the years you've spent together. Even if she stays with you, someday she'll get fed up with everything and that's when midlife crisis sets in (for more on midlife crisis, Google it).

#3 - Not empowering your wife financially
It is a fact that men have their down moments. Every man goes through a time when their current financial affluence goes back to square zero. You can't escape it. But if you empower your wife financially, when that happens, it will cushion the blow because of the financial support that will come from her. Forget that rubbish about women becoming pompous when they make money. That was what kept your father from rising when he fell financially. The left hand is there to help the right hand for a reason.

#4 - Being in a relationship with too many girls at the same time
There's a proverb my mum was very fond of using - too many heaps  confuses the chicken. When you are in a relationship with more than one girl, you're bound to enter into confusion when you want to choose a life partner. This is because, every one is good in their own way but it's not everyone who is suitable as a helpmeet for you as a person and it's not everyone's weakness that you can manage. It's even worse when you're having sex with them because you'll be creating too many soul ties that will cloud your judgement eventually. Moreover, you're training yourself to become unfaithful maritally because having gotten used to having more than one woman in your life when single, you'll find it difficult to do otherwise even though you're married.

#5 - Fueling your woman's insecurities
You have the power to feed the Woman in your life so she can become better or fuel her insecurities. Telling the Woman in your life that you like a tall woman when she's short, a hairy woman when she's hairless, a fair woman when she's dark is you fueling her insecurities. You're unknowingly insinuating that you prefer someone else and you are only managing her. The next time she sees you laughing with a tall, hairy or fair lady, she'll start feeling insecure. She may even start accusing you of liking the lady or cheating on her and by then, you'll be wondering why she's acting all hysterical. If she's not good enough for you, leave her alone for someone who will cherish her.

One Love
To my beloved brothers, I write not as an accuser or a judge but as a sister who's sharing with you helpful tips that will make you a better man. So if you find yourself caught up in this move, receive grace from God to become better.
To my sisters, this is not a license to witch-hunt a brother. Just share this post with the brothers in your life to bless them.Xoxo

ARE YOU FORCING IT?

It's only in the realm of humans that you see people trying to force something to become another thing. Maybe it's because they've watched too many films showing the use of magic and how one can perform 'wonders', or maybe it isn't. But in reality, no matter how we try to force it, somethings can't be forced. No matter how much you try to force a mango to become an orange, the best you could ever get from any mango would be a mango juice and never orange juice. The same applies to dating relationships.

No matter how hard you try to compel, cajole, manipulate, dictate, suppress or change that person to become your dream man or woman, you're only setting yourself up for disaster eventually. Instead of catching a sanguine and trying to turn him or her into a melancholy, why not just go for a melancholy instead? Instead of buying a bottle of Coke and trying to turn it to Fanta, why not just go for fanta instead??? Relationships are supposed to make people better, not change them into what they are not. If you're trying to change your man or woman to what they're not, you're practicing witchcraft (manipulating things you have no authority over to suit your own purpose) and you're fast becoming an enemy of God who intentionally made them that way for his glory.

Here are a few signs you're forcing it in your relationship.
1. The things you dislike and complain about him or her are more than the things you're cool with.
2. The things that make him happy are the things you detest.
3. You're always nagging, complaining, hoping and praying that he/she will change and the change is not coming.
4. You feel he / she always embarrasses you with certain actions that he / she considers normal.
5. You quarrel more than you relate except when you're in bed.
If this is your reality, you guys are mismatched and you're definitely forcing a square peg in a round hole.

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Singles: See if you can accept and accommodate his / her mannerisms for a life time. If you can't, that's a clear sign you should consider splitting up. If you want to stretch your faith, pray about those things that give you concern in he / she and give it 6 months to 1 year to see if there's improvement. If at the end of this, there's no change, it's time to end it. The longer time you waste in a wrong relationship with an unsuitable partner, the more you miss out on finding the right partner.

Married folks: If you get married and discover you’re practically forcing it, you're already bound by the vows you made so there is no easy way out. However, God is able to help you  out. Pray for your mate that God will open his / her eyes to the need to change. Ask for grace to love them and accept them the way they are, just like God accepts you the way you are. One of two things will happen. It's either God will change them eventually or he will strengthen you to the point that all those sour points don't bother you or steal your joy anymore. Either way, it's a win-win situation when you take it to God. But, you'll need lots of patience to successfully go through it all. Xoxo.

WALKING IN STILLETTOS

It's an accepted norm in the beauty world that stillettos add beauty, elegance, and sophistication to a lady. As beautiful as a pair of stilettos look on the outside, and as elegant as they wearer seems, it's only she who wears the shoes that knows where it pinches. And believe me, hours of walking in stillettos can leave you with serious leg cramps!!! But contrary to what you think, this post isn't all about stillettos - It's about carrying your cross and walking through the painful experiences of life like a lady in stillettos.

To the person reading this and going through trials and struggles, it's the things that you go through that will eventually make you a beauty and a sight to behold before men.

IT'S FOR YOUR GOOD
As unbelievable as it sounds, every negative experience from your childhood till date is working for your good. Just like a village girl being trained to walk I'm stillettos, it gets difficult, but as the days pass by, you eventually come to the point where you can walk through that situation and come out shinning like a star. Romans  8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Draw confidence from the fact that God is working behind the scenes and he will ensure that you come out more beautiful than ever.

Jesus had to pass through the painful shameful cross to get to his resurrection, receive his crown and eventually sit at the right hand of God. Beyond every cross, lies a crown. After every night comes the day. Don't die in your situation. Bear the pain of those stillettos you're wearing and go forward. As long as you don't give up, you'll eventually come out a pro, and an instructor unto others.

KEEP WALKING
When ladies gather for a beauty pageant, knowing that the D-day will involve wearing stillettos for hours, the wise ones spend every day wearing 6-8 inch heels stillettos. Despite the pain and discomfort, as they keep walking in it daily, it eventually gets easier and they become pros. God's word to you today is to keep on walking. Don't complain, don't give up - just keep walking. You lost your parents - Keep on walking. You got raped - Keep on walking. You just went through a painful break up - Keep on walking. You got cheated  - Keep on walking. You're getting older and can't seem to find a life partner - Keep on walking. Soon, the tables will turn and that same situation that caused you are pain and shame will become your glory and crown.

Keep this scripture in mind always - Romans  8:37... in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him that loved us.

The stage has been set and the world is waiting for you to tell your story - a story of survival, triumph and victory that will save future generations. You need those stillettos (painful experiences) to stand on that stage. Receive strength and grace to come out triumphant in Jesus name. Xoxo

JUST RIGHT 2

BE THE BEST YOU ARE!!!
Written by - Mimi Okwara

It's a beautiful day, sisters. Happy July. As a continuation from my previous post, NO MORE, I'd like to speak specifically today on who you are, and being exactly that. I see high and lofty ladies/women daily bask in the aura of false self-gait, with the deepest fear of insecurity; haunted with memories of childhood molestations, regrets, mistakes... and so on and it pains me greatly. Consequently, we hide under the cloak of ACCEPTANCE with you turning into "everybody's good girl, trying so hard to please your dad, mum, pals, boyfriend, fiance, etc. Dear sister of mine, I understand that the spark that got you rolling with him was the fact that he actually started off looking like the one in a thousand ways that presented articulately the "I care" speech. But that is not enough reason to lose who you are (sweetheart, nicer men are on the way).

Fulfillment and acceptance aren't found in the air - their residence is within (on the inside of you). You can't be happy with anyone else till you are happy, fulfilled and calmly resolved, all by yourself. For crying out loud,we already have tons of dishevelled mums on the inside springing up on the outside, their stories being told as gossip or headline news daily. Please, don't add to the ever increasing number.

Whatever it is, FIX IT UP, NOW. No one is and will be YOUR BETTER HALF to complement and fill up spaces. Only God can fill the vacuums in your life created by a terrible childhood, bad relationships, past hurts and  a desire to be loved. Your present state of a heart in shambles wasn't so ab initio. God made you WHOLESOME, not a burden, so don't plan to burden any one with your problems. Get it right, now!
Yea,I know they hurt you in many places intentionally or unintentionally. But, you're not the only one - so many of us are victims of different kinds of abuse from a very early age. For some, it initiated a RIPPLE EFFECT that left you so open, disgusting, and dirty (says who?). Some others  are even scared that everyone else (besides them), are wolves in sheep clothing..., and that no one will accept them for real.

My dear, he will Love, care for, and adore you if he is THE ONE, for you. Besides, God is always there for you, and if he finds/he's found God, then he will find you because God will lead him to you. Even if the stab hurts so much that you can't talk to no one... Fine! Maybe, you don't need to do so yet. Just hear Jesus give you the assurance that He is there for you. Then you can sing in Kari's voice:

I know that you are for me I know that you will never forsake me in my weakness.

The both of us (God and I), care so much that you become THE BEST YOU; that the strength of God bursts forth on the inside of you to successfully beat through all challenges to become THE BEST, the VERY BEST. GOD'S grace is at work in you, sweetheart. Be the best you are!

 ~Mimi...

Handling Spiritual Fatigue

Yes oo! It is possible to suffer from spiritual fatigue, just as we suffer from physical fatigue. Spiritual fatigue is that point you get to where engaging in spiritual activities becomes cumbersome, difficult and uninteresting. In other words, it’s fatigue of the soul that makes engaging in spiritual activities difficult. Here on sister 2 sister, we’re not only concerned about your relationships or your career, we’re also interested in your spiritual life and its vitality. So how can you know you’re spiritually fatigued? See if any of these apply to you.

Signs of Spiritual Fatigue
- You feel like leaving the earth and its troubles behind.
- You’re tired of upholding everyone in prayers.
- Prayer and church have become burdensome.
- You constantly want to get away from everything and rest.
- You’re tired of moving from trial to trial.

Causes of Spiritual Fatigue
Here are a few major causes of spiritual fatigue:
- Pending/unfulfilled expectations (that’s the reason why ……. says “hope deferred makes the heart sick”).
- Too many trials, troubles and challenges happening simultaneously over a period of time.
- Going from task to task for a long period without partaking in any spiritually refreshing and renewing activities such as a worship service or church programme.

So How Do I Handle It?
#1 – A Personal Retreat
The best way to handle spiritual fatigue is to take a short time out (maybe a day or a weekend) for a personal retreat. If you work all week, a weekend will be better for you. Find a quiet place that will allow you have time alone with God. Turn off your phone and take quality time to thank God and worship him.

Make a list of all the good things God has done for you and your family so it can motivate you to praise God even more. Write out a list of all the things bothering your mind and lift them up to God in prayer. Ask God to take away the burden of these things, fill your heart with his peace and restore your soul and spirit. Keep worshiping God in songs until you get to that point where you feel his peace and strength return to your soul.

#2 – Listen to a Message/ Song Relevant to your Situation
This is useful on a daily basis. You should always have audio and video messages on the word of God on your phone alongside beautiful worship songs. They always come handy for reviving your soul daily. Pick the one to listen to per day as you’re led in your spirit and you’ll be amazed at how spiritual fatigue will fly out from your soul.

#3 – Attend a Worship Service or a Programme in your Church
Just as a piece of charcoal gradually losing its fire can be revived by being placed amidst other pieces of charcoal which are ablaze, worshiping God with other believers is a quick way to regain your spiritual fire. At first, it may seem hard to connect with the flow of worship but if your heart is sincere and you put your whole being into worshiping God at the service, your fire for worship will be restored in no time. You will definitely leave the service refreshed and fatigueless.

#4 – Get a Friend who Believes in Jesus to Pray with You
This applies especially when spiritual fatigue is as a result of too many unfulfilled expectations and too many trials/challenges. ….. says “if two of you shall agree on anything in my name, it shall be done by my father in heaven”. As two of you lift up those issues bothering you unto God, you are making a prayer of agreement that God is faithful to answer. He will lighten your burden and restore your spiritual strength.

Make it a Habit
Spiritual fatigue is something you will experience more than once in your lifetime and walk with God. Make all these a habit and by the grace of God, you will make it out of every situation without losing your spiritual fire in God. Xoxo.
