SOME THINGS YOU NEED TO DO IN 2016

"You can't keep doing the same thing and expecting to get a different result" goes a popular saying. In other words, if your preferred mode of doing things ain't working, switch to a better one. This post is designed to help you position yourself for better results this year. Whether you’re single or married, there's something for you here. Reading it is one step, doing it is another step, the better step actually. Happy reading!

1. Commit your desires and expectations to God daily. He is committed to answering those who ask. 

2. Let go of all disappointments and pains of the past. If you need help, ask God to heal you from the pains of the past. 

3. Open your heart. Open your heart to love and forgiveness. Open your heart to new ways thinking and doing things. 

4. Look within. The process of change starts with you. 

5. Commit to continuous self-development. Self-development doesn't happen by chance; it's a reflection of your intentional effort. 

6. Become more fruitful and responsible. Your being female doesn't give you an excuse to become a liability. 

7. Believe! Believe God for good things. You are for signs and wonders in 2016. 

8. Be ready to take risks and try new things. God is working to turn everything around for your good. 

9. Prepare for what you're expecting so your unpreparedness doesn't make you miss it. 

10. Be friendly. Loosen up. When you smile at the world, it smiles back at you. 

11. Be patient with the people in your life. Deal with them with understanding. There's good in everyone, even those ones who piss you off so much. Focus on that part. 

12. Be flexible. Often, God’s miracles and destiny helpers come in containers we do not expect. 

13. Ask God to make you the wife suitable for your husband. 

14. Connect with men and women that will add something positive to your life.

THERE IS NO PERFECT MAN

Hello beautiful,

How's 2016 been treating you? I hope you're still filled with faith and positive hope for the year. I wanna assure you that God's got great plans for you. All he needs from you is to position yourself and BELIEVE. Despite all you've experienced so far, this will mark the beginning of the best years of your life in Jesus name. This is the season where God has arisen to fulfil every promise and prophecy he ever made concerning you. This is not a time to scoff or remain bitter. It's a time to believe him like a baby and demand the fulfilment of God's word in your life. I know that at the end of 2016, you and I shall stand with a truck load of testimonies in Jesus name.

Now to the post of the day...

Yes sweetheart, THERE IS NO PERFECT MAN. In the ideal world, men are perfect. In the real world, men are good but with defects and so are you. I know you may have great expectations concerning the man you will marry or the man in your life. But if you fail to understand that there is no perfect man, you will discard a good man in search of what doesn't exist. On this side of the universe, there is no perfect person. God will not send you a perfect man, but he will send you a good man who is suitable for you. What does this man? He will send you a man who blends with you, who you can work with and whose weaknesses and shortcomings you can manage. With time, and with God, you will both be like iron sharpening iron as you motivate each other to get better daily. As long as his short comings are not a deal breaker for you, stay with the one God has given you. As long as you're willing to walk together and work together,  grace is available to make it better.

I know you prefer a tall dark handsome man, but what if the one God has prepared for you doesn't fit this description? It's not an excuse to say no. You're not the most beautiful girl in the universe yourself. Don't throwaway a good man in search of a perfect man that doesn't exist. How do you know he's a good man?

1. He fears God and is submitted to him. God's word is the Supreme authority over his life.

2. He accepts you, your dreams and God's purpose for you and supports you in it.

3. He's real with you and values what you say. He allows you influence him positively. He is a man who can take correction (a man who thinks he knows it all is a dictator and a vehicle headed for destruction).

4. His shortcomings are not deal breakers (things you can't endure).

5. He has a focus in life and pursues God's path for him in destiny.

6. He's not lazy.

7. He let's you be yourself, sharpens you positively, and his presence in your life makes you keep getting better.

8. When you think of a future with him, you know you can spend a life time with him  and be happy.

To the single ladies 

When it comes to choosing a life partner, you need God's guidance if you must get it right. God may not speak to you with a loud voice telling you 'this is your husband' but he will make it clear to you. Stay prayerful and receive his direction. Stay connected to the man of God (pastor) he's given you to watch over you. You will not miss it in Jesus name.

To the married women 

The best gift you can give your man is to pray for him. Mix your  prayers with faith and God will surprise you. That thing you keep nagging and complaining about, make it a prayer point and watch God fulfil proverbs 21:1 in your life. The change you seek may not come instantly  cuz change is a process. And while God works, pray for the grace to keep loving and respecting your man.

4 Things the Guy You’re with Wants You to Know

This post is an amplifier of the thoughts in your man’s heart which he will like you to know but may not necessarily say to you. It is dedicated to those good men out there who are not perfect but are striving daily with the grace God supplies to become better. I am just the messenger bringing it to you today. I sincerely hope that after reading this, your disposition and attitude towards your man will change for the better. Happy reading!!!

I’m not perfect; I’m still growing daily

Should I say more? I don’t think so. What this means is that he will make mistakes sometimes but just like the path of the righteous which shines brighter and brighter, he will grow better daily. So make allowances for his weaknesses and mistakes; focus on his good side instead.

I will say the wrong thing and be oblivious about it many times

Unlike women, most men don’t taste their words before they spit them out. In the process, they may unconsciously hurt you in the name of expressing themselves and not even realize that they hurt you. If you focus on the words, you’ll be heartbroken most times. If your man falls into this category, learn not to regard or hold on to such nasty words; you know deep down he loves you.

I’ll need to lean on you sometimes

Yes baby girl! Superman will sometimes need to lean on you financially, emotionally, physically, spiritually. When such times come, don’t look down on him or treat him with contempt. Why are you his helpmeet if you can’t help him at such times???

I need your prayers a lot

Oh yes, even the most spiritual man needs the prayers of his woman daily. There are forces and situations striving daily to make a mess of you, your man and your relationship / marriage. You can’t scale through without prayers. 1 Timothy 2:1 says “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving if thanks be made for all men; for kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” Your prayers are a very important need in his life. Pray for him with every chance you get. There can never be an overdose of your prayers for him. You can get Stormie Omatian’s book “The Power of a Praying Wife” to understand this more.

5 Signs He’s Not the Man for You

Hello Sis,

How’s the cold weather treating you? Hope it’s not causing you any trouble. I’m enjoying the weather cuz this is my favourite season of the year. You know why? It does my complexion much good *wink*. Today’s post is dedicated to all those ladies who are already in a relationship and don’t know for sure if you’re with the right man. Not to worry. Here are 5 signs that will help you know if the man you’re with is good for you or not.

#1 -   He can’t handle your weaknesses

Every human on the earth has weaknesses. The right man for you is specially graced by God and experiences to handle, tolerate and love you with your weaknesses. He will be kind to you and patient with you in the areas of your weaknesses as he encourages you to get better. Your weaknesses are not a deal breaker for him. He knows them well and accepts you the way you are. He even adapts to you by becoming a help in the area of your weakness. For instance, if he knows your weakness is late coming, he devices ways to ensure you come early by waking up hours ahead and when you occasionally slip, he won’t kill you for it.

#2 -   He can’t handle your dreams

If you’re an ambitious woman or a woman with dreams, the right man for you is one who celebrates and supports your dreams. He is not threatened or intimidated by what you have achieved or will achieve. He constantly finds ways to support the advancement of your dreams. The wrong man for you is anyone who has a preset view on what a woman should do and is trying to remake you into his dream woman. For example, some men believe a woman shouldn’t work; others believe she should leave whatever she is doing and manage one of his business outlets, become a nurse or anything that he chooses. They have no respect or regard for your dreams/purpose. If you value your dreams, you shouldn’t be with such a man because he will just end up choking you to death.

#3 – He can’t handle your temperament

Everyone has a temperament; some other people call it personality. The wrong man always complains about the things in your temperament that makes you who you are. God made us all who we are. Our background and experiences also contributes to who we are. When I say temperament here, I mean those aspects of you that are natural or core to you. For instance, if you’re a naturally reserved person, the wrong man for you is one who complains that you’re too quiet. If he wants a boisterous person, he should simply go for one! If you’re a lively person, the wrong man is one who complains that you’re too lively. The right man loves you the way you are; whether you’re lively or reserved. He may complain if you take it out of proportion, but he basically accepts you as you are.

#4 – Fans you into foolishness

The wrong man for you is any man who encourages you to do stupid and foolish things that are against your personal principles and bring out the worst in you. If he always unconsciously or consciously brings out the worst in you, he is not good for you. Check your life since you met him; has he brought out the best, the worst or the foolishness in you? The answer will tell you if he is the man for you or not.

#5 – Does not contribute to your improvement

Iron sharpens iron; the right man’s presence in your life over time will make you a better, more refined, more fruitful woman. A man of worth will add to you tremendously with time and I’m not referring to money. If all he is contributed to your life so far is getting you addicted to booze, clubbing, sex, twerking etc., sister, he’s not good for you.

Please note that every man is good, but not every man is good for you as a person. You may like him a lot and he may love you to pieces but you may both be unsuitable for each other. Water and fire are good individually. However, both do not mix because one quenches the other. The wrong man may not be bad or nasty as a person but when the two of you come together, the combination is unsuitable or sometimes lethal. When you let go of the wrong man, you open the door for God to lead you to the right one.

Handling Sexual Harassment at Work

Almost every lady has experienced some form of sexual harassment. Ranging from mild to high level sexual harassment, ladies of all ages have experienced this in informal circles and also at work. Making sexual advances at a woman is not a crime; however, when such advances persist despite rejecting them and giving stern warnings that it should stop, it becomes sexual harassment.

Merriam-webster.com defines sexual harassment as uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical behaviour of a sexual nature especially by a person in authority toward a subordinate (as an employee or student). To read more about sexual harassment, click here.

Check Yourself

I am not here to accuse you of being the cause of what you’re facing. I’m well aware that there are men who will come after you, even if you’re always dressed in a boubou. But the truth is, there are some clothes that are too sexy for the workplace. Some of these clothes may not even expose your vital body parts but are so fitted that they still produce the same effect of turning your colleagues on. So before we witch hunt the guys, let’s check ourselves. I know you love to look fly as I do and sometimes we say to ourselves “can’t they just not look???” but sis, these guys are not blind, plus you’re fearfully, wonderfully and sexily made so you can’t blame them. If you’re always facing sexual harassment everywhere you work, then it’s most likely that you need to look into your dressing. There are smart dresses that make you look beautiful without inviting harassment. Get them and use them.   

Just Say No

There is no need to make a fuss about the sexual advances your colleague or boss are making. There is no need to insult them either or turn it to a public announcement in your office by telling everyone who cares to listen. Just say NO. Let the person know that you’re not interested, not now and not in the future. The tone and manner in which you say this is important, so as not to sound arrogant, disrespectful or like you’re giving him an indirect yes. If it’s coming from your boss, be respectful as you say that. Let him know that with all due respect, you’re not interested. Simple!

Avoid Precarious Situations

As much as you possible, avoid situations of proximity where you’re alone with your harasser. This will diminish the chances he has to harass you the more or even try to take it further by touching you or trying to force himself on you. Don’t set yourself up. If it’s coming from your boss and he’s always inviting you to his office alone at odd hours, don’t show up. With time, he will get the message. It’s better to be scolded for not showing up than to fall prey (this is especially important if you’re bodily smaller than the man so that it doesn’t move from sexual harassment to rape).

Be Firm

Don’t beg; don’t remind him that he is married (in case he is) cuz he already knows that. Just stick to your answer and with a no-smiling face, politely let him know your stand and ask him to respect your decision.

Do Something

If after all these, the harassment continues, then it’s time to do something about it. Here are a few things you can do:

• Resign: If he’s making your stay at work a living hell and threatening to set you up or do something drastic if you don’t give in, resign. God is able to take you to a better place. You will get another job.
• Write an anonymous letter to his wife: Don’t go to her directly. Just get someone to write an anonymous letter telling her to warn her husband to stop harassing ladies in his office or better still, get someone to call her phone and give her this message. Believe me, this would work like magic. He may suspect that you’re behind it, but since he has no proof, he can’t pin it on you. He will accuse you of trying to spoil his marriage but the harassment will end there. Most importantly, do not threaten to tell his wife before you make this move - you will only be shooting yourself in the leg; just go ahead and do it. 
• Activate the Spiritual: Proverbs 21:1 says the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever he wills. Your boss is not above God; God is able to touch his heart and take his mind off harassing you or better still, give you the wisdom to navigate the situation. Talk to God in prayer and ask him to remove every sexual lust in the man’s heart for you and make him see you as his sister. I highly recommend this because, by experience, I know that God is able to do this.
