WALKING IN STILLETTOS

It's an accepted norm in the beauty world that stillettos add beauty, elegance, and sophistication to a lady. As beautiful as a pair of stilettos look on the outside, and as elegant as they wearer seems, it's only she who wears the shoes that knows where it pinches. And believe me, hours of walking in stillettos can leave you with serious leg cramps!!! But contrary to what you think, this post isn't all about stillettos - It's about carrying your cross and walking through the painful experiences of life like a lady in stillettos.

To the person reading this and going through trials and struggles, it's the things that you go through that will eventually make you a beauty and a sight to behold before men.

IT'S FOR YOUR GOOD
As unbelievable as it sounds, every negative experience from your childhood till date is working for your good. Just like a village girl being trained to walk I'm stillettos, it gets difficult, but as the days pass by, you eventually come to the point where you can walk through that situation and come out shinning like a star. Romans  8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Draw confidence from the fact that God is working behind the scenes and he will ensure that you come out more beautiful than ever.

Jesus had to pass through the painful shameful cross to get to his resurrection, receive his crown and eventually sit at the right hand of God. Beyond every cross, lies a crown. After every night comes the day. Don't die in your situation. Bear the pain of those stillettos you're wearing and go forward. As long as you don't give up, you'll eventually come out a pro, and an instructor unto others.

KEEP WALKING
When ladies gather for a beauty pageant, knowing that the D-day will involve wearing stillettos for hours, the wise ones spend every day wearing 6-8 inch heels stillettos. Despite the pain and discomfort, as they keep walking in it daily, it eventually gets easier and they become pros. God's word to you today is to keep on walking. Don't complain, don't give up - just keep walking. You lost your parents - Keep on walking. You got raped - Keep on walking. You just went through a painful break up - Keep on walking. You got cheated  - Keep on walking. You're getting older and can't seem to find a life partner - Keep on walking. Soon, the tables will turn and that same situation that caused you are pain and shame will become your glory and crown.

Keep this scripture in mind always - Romans  8:37... in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him that loved us.

The stage has been set and the world is waiting for you to tell your story - a story of survival, triumph and victory that will save future generations. You need those stillettos (painful experiences) to stand on that stage. Receive strength and grace to come out triumphant in Jesus name. Xoxo

4 Things You Shouldn’t Be Looking at and Why

You can’t to look anywhere but forward if you must win the race of life. Selah.
Happy weekend to you. I do hope the weekend is treating you real good. A thought entered my head recently that blew my mind and made me scream out and this was what I thought about: the difference between the angle of elevation and the angle of depression is not what is happening around you but what direction you choose to look at. There are things that elevate your spirit when you look at them and there are things that depress you when you look at them. What does this mean? What you look at with your physical eyes, but most especially with your mind’s eye is very important. Today, I’ll like to focus on what you look at with your mind’s eye. So, here are four things you should not be looking at with your mind’s eye and why.
#1- The Past

The past represents everything good, bad and ugly that happened to you or people around you all through time before now. Yesterday is not and will never be today. When all you look at in your mind’s eyes is the unpleasant past it kills your hope for a brighter day, spoils the joy you would have experienced today, and makes you reactive, instead of proactive. Even if the past was very beautiful and blissful, looking at it constantly and wishing you could go back to yesterday is not a proactive thought. As much as we try, we can’t rewind or bring back yesteryears. Looking at how great we looked formally or the wonderful achievements of the past is supposed to be applied to people who are dead and gone while making a tribute to them. You have a future ahead of you and your present life to deal with; look forward.
#2 – Your Mistakes

No one deliberately sets out to make mistakes. And even though we sometimes wish we never made the mistakes we made, mistakes are a useful part of the school called life. If you ever have to look at your mistakes, glance at it briefly (glance, not look) to take corrections from it and dump it where it should be-buried with the past. You know why? Focusing on the mistakes you made kills your boldness and will to try again. Take a cue from babies learning to walk: even though they fell yesterday, it doesn’t stop them from trying to walk or run again today.
#3- The Chaos Around You

These days we hear a lot of terrible and incredible stories of what people do and what happens to people around us and you will agree with me that these stories sometimes leaves us with goose bumps. In fact, turn up any news channel and the ratio of bad news to good news is quite high. Even with regards to marriage, the gory tales of happenings in marriages as well as the alarming divorce rate is quite depressing. Now I’m not saying turn a deaf ear or stop watching the news but such things are not things you should internalize and stare at continually in your mind. They will only depress you and drain the batteries of your zest for life plus turn you into a cynic, a pessimist and a faithless person.
#4 – The Mountains Before You
By “mountains” I mean challenges; those “what ifs” and difficulties that confront you on the way to achieving your dreams, visions and aspirations. If you’re a goal getter and a vision-chaser like me, then you understand what I mean when I say mountains. Take note of them yes, but not as obstacles or problems; take note of them as challenges that you will surely overcome. The mountains before you are not supposed to form the focus in your mind’s eye; finding the solution to them is supposed to form your focus.
Why Shouldn’t I Look at these Four Things???
It’s simple: these four things are all angles of depression that if you continually stare at them will land you into depression puncture your faith and prevent you from winning in life. Before the aeroplane was made, men never believed it was possible. Before Mount Everest was first climbed by Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal, people believed it was impossible.  No one wins a race by running and looking backwards or looking down below; they win it by looking forward, keeping their eyes on the finish line and running. Another direction you need to look at is “upwards”. It is the angle of elevation that will eventually elevate you. Psalm 121:1-2 says “I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.”

Miracles still happen, we all need help. What you look at in your mind’s eye affects you and your life seriously. Do a soul-check today and reposition your mind’s eyes. Xoxo. Have a sweet week ahead.

6 Things You Should Not Hide From The Guy You’re Getting Serious With

Shout out to all the wonderful ladies (and guys) reading this post.
Every relationship has stages. As each day passes, the relationship grows and eventually gets to the stage where you guys become “serious” with each other. What do I mean by serious? I mean that point where his interest in you gets deeper, you’re considering dating each other exclusively and moving from dating to courtship level. As happy as you are that your relationship has gotten to this point, there are some “secrets” about you which if you leave them undisclosed, may turn around to bite you hard. These are things about you (they mustn’t be bad stuff) that he needs to know and decide if he’s ready to live with before the relationship becomes too serious. Check them out below:
Health Challenges/Peculiarities
You should tell him your health challenges or peculiarities so he can decide if he has the capacity and patience to live with you that way. If you’re AS or SS, you should let him know. Are you asthmatic, HIV+ or allergic to something? Did you undergo a surgical procedure or suffer any injury/illness that affected any part of your body? You should let him know.
Sleeping Pattern

If for some reason, you snore when you sleep (yes, some ladies snore), you should let him know. Snoring is not a big deal to some people but to others, it is. Anyways, this helps you both decide how best to manage the situation when you eventually live together.
Your Passion, Purpose and Long Term Goals

Of course since he met you, he must have noticed some aspects of your passion and purpose. But if there are some aspects that he is not yet aware of, make them known to him. He should be fully be aware what he’s going in for in the long run. Make sure he’s Ok with your passion, purpose and long term goals, except they do not mean much to you.
Unpleasant Past
When we don’t deal with the past, they come back to haunt us. If you had a baby outside wedlock, got imprisoned, got into trouble that led to a public scene or disgrace and any other dark secrets you may have, hint him. I’m not asking you to give him a step-by-step account of your past, but at least he should get a hint of it from you. It never augurs well when he eventually hears it from someone else. If he loves you, he’ll appreciate the fact that you were sincere and truthful and not focus on the past.
Family Peculiarities
Now I’m not saying you should dish out all your family’s dirty laundry, but if there are any family peculiarities that if discovered later on may cause a strain, you should let him know. Some of them may include your parents’ preference for a particular tribe, their ancestral history, family jinx etc.
Things You Are Not Willing To Deal With
Now that you guys are serious, he has finally earned the right to know the things you can’t deal with (your deal breakers) in marriage so he can decide if he can adjust to those or not. If you can’t deal with keeping late nights, drinking, smoking etc, this is the point where you should raise such issues and see if you can come to an agreement on it.
But I’m Scared…
Yea! Me too. It’s scary when it occurs to you that if he hears these things, he may change his mind. It’s even scarier when you’ve tried it before and a guy actually left you. But the deal is this: It’s better if he hears them from you at this point when the relationship hasn’t gotten too serious so you can both decide if you’ll continue or have a rethink. Or do you prefer he hears it from those enemies of yours who can’t keep their mouth shut a few days to the wedding and calls it off because he feels you deceived him???
These are just a few things you should let him know now that you guys are getting serious. What’s more? It works both ways. You should ask him to answer these questions too.
